About Regnum Francorum online

Purpose of this site
Regnum Francorum is a free of charge website open for the public. The purpose of this website is to collect and present information on merovingian and carolingian Europe AD 614 to 918.

Participation of visitors and members
It is my intention to have users contribute with information in different ways. Here are some preliminary thoughts. Other idees are most welcome.

1. To help check the internet for freely available sources and literature that would be listed here. Not necessarily public domain but free of charge and without registration.
2. Visitors are welcome to post comments online to discuss and to make corrections about the intepretation of the sources.
3. Have members, see below, to actually type in additional information into the datebase. For security reasons, that will require a free membership and a login procedure.
4. Users who have gathered data on their own that would fit in the concept of Regnum Francorum are welcome to contact me for further discussion on how to integrate them into this website. Data could be of historical or archeological nature, including the subdisciplines, covering the merovingian or carolingian period, approx AD 500 to 918. Data on the roman empire are also welcome. For example the itinerary of Peutinger and Antonini.
5. Sources in full text or exstracts from sources, gathered from non copyrighted sources. Sources found elsewhere in text-format will not be published here. There are lots of sources on Google books search and Gallica waiting to be proof read.
6. Articles of both scientific and popular nature, with permission of the copyright-holder. the text of the articles could easily be integrated with the data found here.
7. Donations of books and articles.
